Community Partnerships

Community and charity work

Orchard House Vets is the local, community-focused vet. As part of that we want to highlight the work we do in the community and raise awareness to local charities and community groups. In this section you will be able to find out more information about our selected charitable organisations and learn more about community events in and around the Tyne Valley.

What Orchard House Vets do for local charities

As a practice

We involve ourselves as a practice where possible by attending local shows, events and fundraisers. When we are unable to attend we try to sponsor or donate to as many events as we can.

How we involve our staff in fundraising

Our staff partake in sponsored walks, cake sales and the like! As a practice we want to encourage our staff to be members of the local community, be that Hexham, Stocksfield, Bellingham and everywhere in between.

Wag & Co

Wag & Company North East Friendship Dogs launched in 2016, covers the 12 unitary authorities of the North East and is the only visiting dog charity in the UK to visit and befriend elderly dog lovers in their own homes as well as in care or medical establishments.

To date Wag & Company has made over 75000 friend visits benefitting over 3000 North East pensioners. We have over 400 volunteers but more are needed all the time; there are so many people who need a friend, particularly now.

Becoming a charitable or community partner

Charities

We have a select number of charities we work with every year and as much as we would like to help all charities, we simply cannot. However, please do approach us as we may consider your charity in the future, or a member of our team may wish to do a specific fundraiser for you.

Events

We have a set budget per year for sponsoring events but encourage events to approach us as we review the events we will sponsor every year. Use the contact form opposite to contact us.

In the community

We can facilitate school visits, career talks and much more. As a busy working practice we are sure you can appreciate that it isn’t always possible to fulfil every request we receive but if it is possible for us to attend a community event or facilitate a school visit, then we will endeavour to do so.
