Our Bellingham and Stocksfield surgeries are cat friendly!

Our Bellingham and Stocksfield surgeries are Cat Friendly Clinics, and we are working towards accreditation for our Hexham surgery.

The Cat Friendly Clinic programme is a worldwide scheme run by the cat charity ‘International Cat Care’, in conjunction with the International Society for Feline Medicine (ISFM), which is dedicated to improving the health and welfare of cats everywhere. At Orchard House Vets we are very proud to support this work.

This means that:

Your cat will be treated and handled gently and with respect by staff who are committed to making a visit to the vet as stress free as possible for your cat.

Our clinics have achieved standards set by the charity for the care and treatment of cats with respect to equipment, training and facilities. In fact our surgeries exceed these standards in many respects, with separate areas in the waiting room for cats ,on site laboratory equipment, full surgical care on the premises, fully equipped dental facilities, including dental radiography, 15 minute consultations, and of course our own, dedicated 24 hour emergency service in the practice for our registered clients.

As part of the scheme we have appointed Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Jill Crawford as our Cat Advocate, who ensures that the standards are adhered to and would be happy to talk to you about any aspect of the Scheme.
