The campaign is designed to make car users aware of the importance of keeping a safe distance and slowing down near such vulnerable road users. In 2020, 87 horses and 4 people died on British roads. 78% of these tragic events were not due to a collision but due to cars passing too closely and spooking the horse. 140 cyclists died on British roads in 2020 also.
