The big butterfly count 2022

The Big Butterfly Count is a UK-wide survey aimed at helping us assess the health of our environment simply by counting the amount and type of butterflies (and some day-flying moths) we see.

It is easy to get involved and just requires 3 steps.

Step one: 

Download the UK butterfly chart here.

Step two: 

Between Friday 15th July and Sunday 7th August choose a place to spot butterflies and moths. Watch for 15 minutes. Then record which species you see in step three.

Step three:

Go to the big butterfly count official website to register your findings
