Georgia’s fundraiser for the gap africa training trip
We are pleased to share the exciting news that our Student Veterinary Nurse, Georgia, has the wonderful opportunity to travel to Africa next year for an academic trip.
Georgia is a wonderful student vet nurse, and will shortly become a wonderful registered veterinary nurse, and this is a once in a lifetime experience allows veterinary nurses to learn hands on skills in the wildlife veterinary field. Georgia will be working with endangered species and whilst we aren’t fortunate to see such animals in the UK, the anatomy is surprising similar to our domestic pets and wildlife.
The 2-week training placement, which is for Vet Students, Vet Nurses or in Pre-Vet Studies, is being arranged by Gap Africa Projects and will focus on the Big 5 Game Reserve in South Africa. Georgia found out about the training placement through her college and was excited by the opportunity to take part in activities such as DNA tagging, contraception darting, and learning how to track different species.
Although the trip is scheduled for June 2023, Georgia is now actively fundraising to raise much needed funds to enable her to take part in this academic trip. If you would like to donate to help fund this unique Veterinary experience, any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
