Georgia’s Gap Africa trip

This is a once in a lifetime experience that allows veterinary nurses to learn hands on skills in the wildlife veterinary field. Georgia worked  with endangered species and whilst we aren’t fortunate to see such animals in the UK, the anatomy is surprising similar to our domestic pets and wildlife. The 2-week training placement, which is for Vet Students, Vet Nurses or in Pre-Vet Studies, was arranged by Gap Africa Projects and focusses on the Big 5 Game Reserve in South Africa. Georgia found out about the training placement through her college and was excited by the opportunity to take part in activities such as DNA tagging, contraception darting, and learning how to track different species.

Many of you, our wonderful clients, donated to Georgia’s various fundraisers and she would like to express her gratitude for all of your contributions, and would like to share some quite incredible photographs she managed to take in between working hands on with some of the world’s most amazing wildlife.
