Emergency Vets FAQs

What qualifies as an emergency for my pet?

In some cases, it can be hard for pet owners to know what constitutes emergency cases for their pets. If you're pet experiences any of the following it's important that you contact our veterinary team immediately:

  • Difficulty breathing or choking
  • Severe bleeding
  • Ingestion of toxic substances

  • Severe pain or trauma

Of course, if you're concerned about your pet for any other reason, don't hesitate to contact us. Our team will be able to triage you over the phone and advise whether you need an appointment right away.

What information should I provide to the vet in an emergency?

When you call our emergency vets, it's important that you accurately describe your pet’s symptoms, the time frame of any incidents that may have occurred, and any toxic substances that they might have ingested.

This information can make sure that your pet is seen quickly on a priority basis and can speed up diagnosis and treatment.
